HDR says it has appointed architect Cynthia Keeffe as a regional director for health in the San Francisco architecture studio, focusing on the west coast region. She brings more than 30 years of experience in architectural project management, planning and design and construction administration specializing in healthcare facility new construction and renovation projects.

“My satisfaction comes from facilitating discussions about strategic direction, planning and design to create great buildings that support care,” she said in a statement. “I believe that when we design great buildings, we have a positive impact on the care experience and that’s when the magic happens.”

HDR says Keeffe has led complex healthcare and research laboratory projects involving master planning, functional space programming, and design and construction administration. She has served as chairman of the Advanced Education Committee with the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) and, for several years, developed and moderated the ACHA’s Master’s series. She is LEED BD+C accredited and is committed to incorporating sustainable practice into design solutions.

“Cynthia brings an added spark and a patient-centered vision to our already stellar HDR Health team,” says Hank Adams, global director, health. “She is a nationally recognized industry thought leader and carries tremendous expertise in helping clients create valuable solutions to healthcare delivery.”

“I believe our role as healthcare architects is to be patient advocates and strategic partners with our clients,” Keeffe says. “One of the best things about HDR is the amazing depth of resources available to clients and project teams.”

“Cynthia is interested in moving data-driven design forward and finding new and innovative ways of supporting our clients’ evolving care delivery models,” says Abbie Clary, director, health. “Her focus is on the people who will deliver and receive care in the facilities she works on, and that is extremely valuable in today’s healthcare market.”
