The Bay Area Construction Leadership Council (CLC) of the Associated General Contractors of California recently toured San Francisco’s new Transbay Transit Center.
The center will be a regional transportation hub containing more than one million square feet of space and will serve 11 transportation systems, Claire Koenig, regional manager, Santa Clara, North Bay and San Francisco, reported in a recent eletter.
Project features include:
When fully complete, the center will include the San Francisco terminus of the High-Speed rail system and BART access, along with airport-like shopping, dining, and baggage areas.
Jack Adams, Turner’s construction manager on the project, conducted the two-hour tour on June 8. Thirty participants walked through the $1-billion Phase 1, slated for substantial completion in December with bus operations to commence in March, 2018.
