A man died after falling up to 40 feet at a construction site south of Fresno on Aug. 9, Fresno County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Smith told the Fresno Bee.
He was identified as Kirk Smith, 49, of Fresno.
Fresno police initially responded about 9 a.m. to the site at 850 E. Central Ave., just east of Highway 41, where a man in his 30s to early 40s had fallen through a skylight.
The man died en route to Community Regional Medical Center, Smith said.
Cal/OSHA has opened an investigation into the death, spokesman Luke Brown said.
The agency has six months to issue citations, he said.
