BNBuilders awarded $4.3 million Mile Square Regional Park in Orange County

BNBuilders says it has been awarded the County of Orange’s $4.3 million Mile Square Regional Park (MISQ) Multi-Purpose Facility.

The contractor says the Fountain Valley project will house indoor recreation, meeting, and training space and “is one of numerous high-profile projects underway by BNBuilders in the Los Angeles/Orange County area, including the UCLA Geffen Academy, Caltech Wang Laboratory Renovation, Telecare Tenant Improvements, UC Irvine Fire/Life Safety Upgrades, and UC Riverside BSL-3 Laboratory, among others.”

BNBuilders will provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services for both the preconstruction and construction phases for the MISQ building.

The project consists of constructing a 9,600-sq. ft. semi-permanent, pre-engineered building manufactured by Sprung Instant Structures, Inc. to host indoor community recreation activities, such as badminton and ping pong, and feature a digital audio and video system for when it’s used to host trainings, meetings, or other special events.

The project was designed by Swift Lee Office. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2017 and be completed in spring 2018.

“Our team is working closely with OC Public Works and Parks, as well as Swift Lee Office, to finalize design with careful construction planning required to build this new community building in Fountain Valley for the local residents and visitors of Mile Square Regional Park,” BNBuilders principal Jamie Awford said in a statement. “We are pleased that the County trusted BNBuilders with one of their first CMAR building contracts to deliver this new facility that will add to the amenities and ongoing activities at the park.”
