Construction begins on Faraday Future factory in Hanford, California

Ground has been broken for Faraday Future’s California factory.

The company calls itself “a user-centric, advanced mobility company” whose team “leverages the talents of passionate creators from the technology and automotive industries to bring premium, seamlessly connected electric vehicles.”

Actual construction on the 1 million-square-foot facility has begun. The factory expects to have its first vehicle roll off the lines by this Aug. 28.

Electrive said the factory will house up to 1,300 employees in a triple shift system. To kick start the recruitment process, Faraday has announced several training programs. In co-operation with local institutions they will attempt to hire as many local residents as possible.

The company was originally planning to set up shop in North Las Vegas, but decided against that plan. In a recent press release, the company said proposed production remains on target.

Faraday’s FF 91 is the first serial model by the Chinese-American company and is designed for autonomous driving capabilities, featuring a four-wheel drive with 782 kW performance and an NEFZ range of 700 kilometers.
