Construction begins on 70-unit seniors housing community in Los Angeles

Construction has started on The Curve @ West Angeles Senior Apartments, an affordable housing community in the Park Mesa Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The development, designed by Santa Monica-based architecture firm KFA, is a project of West Angeles Community Development Corp. and Related Cos. of California, according to a report in ReBusinessOnline.com.

The 52,777-sq.-ft, five-story building consists of 70 apartments for seniors, with 40 low-income units, 29 very-low-income units, and one market-rate manager’s unit, according to the publication.

The community is being built at on the southeast corner of 54th St. and Crenshaw Blvd. The project will cost $24 million.
