On August 23, a California appeals court reversed a lower court’s ruling that halted construction of a Target shopping center in Hollywood.
The order, passed by the 2nd District Court of Appeal, says that the city of Los Angeles complied with state environmental law and did not abuse its discretion by changing local zoning laws to allow the project, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Target can now resume construction activities and move on to complete the half-finished building.
The shopping center was sued by local groups, arguing that the City Council wrongly allowed Target to build a 74-foot-tall structure in a location where such projects couldn’t at the time exceed 35 feet.
