CSG acquires Constar Construction Supply’s two locations

Construction Supply Group (CSG) says it has acquired Constar Construction Supply, a construction supply distributor operating two branches in Clovis and Bakersfield since 1997.

CSG distributes construction materials, accessories and tools, primarily for professional concrete and masonry contractors in the United States and Canada. The combined company has 87 branches with more than 1,150 employees.

Constar is CSG’s tenth acquisition. In late 2016, the acquisitions of Brock White Company, LLC, Border Construction Specialties, LLC and Stetson Building Products formed CSG. The company later executed a carve-out of five Gerdau distribution branches and the acquisitions of Carter Waters and Brock White of Wisconsin, extending its footprint throughout the Midwest.

In the first half of 2018, CSG expanded in the South and in Canada through the acquisitions of Zia Concrete Supply, Williams Equipment & Supply, and Richform Construction Supply.

Following the transaction, Constar Construction Supply will be integrated into the CSG’s Southwestern business unit, Border Construction Specialties. “We are pleased to join the Construction Supply Group team and their platform will allow us to better serve our customers looking forward,” said Constar owner Bill Morse.

“We are proud to partner with Constar Construction Supply and expand our footprint in the West and Southwestern U.S.” Border Construction Specialties president Brian Saker said in a statement. “The expansion into contiguous states is exciting for our customer base and our strategic growth plans. We look forward to continued success with the entire Constar teams.”

“This acquisition furthers our goal of building a best-in-class wholesale distribution company across North America,” said Mitch Williams, CSG’s CEO.

CSG will continue to seek further additions to add to its family of construction distribution businesses.
