Ground breaks for Great Wolf Lodge resort build in Manteca

Manteca, Calif. will soon have a new resident — Wiley the Wolf who will make his home at the Great Wolf Lodge that’s being built in the city.

The lodge mascot joined Mayor Steve DeBrum and others recently to break ground for the new project. The high-profile location along the 120 Bypass will showcase the largest hotel ever built in the Central Valley, reports The Manteca Bulletin.

More than 120 adjoining acres are being developed by the city working with developer Bill Filios as a family entertainment zone.

The $180 million resort will include 500 rooms, an indoor waterpark, restaurants, a conference center, and a family entertainment complex.

The resort is expected to open in mid-2020.
