Ground broken for new fire station in Chula Vista

Construction is beginning on a new fire station in Chula Vista.

The new station, Station 10, in the Millenia area will house 10 Fire personnel, have three truck bays, green built with solar and will serve residents of Millenia and Otay Ranch. The station is being built at the corner of Millenia Ave. and Stylus St.

Construction is expected to be completed in Feb. 2020.

Chula Vista Fire Chief Jim Geering told NBC San Diego that there is room for two additional fire stations in Chula Vista.
