San Jose approves mixed-use affordable project

The San Jose City Council has approved the construction of a six-story, mixed-use affordable housing development in the Willow Glen neighborhood.

Dubbed Meridian Apartments, the project will be built on a 2.09-acre site at 961-971 Meridian Ave. between Fruitdale Ave. and Curci Drive, reports the Mercury News.

The building will offer 231 affordable units, two units for property managers and 1,780 sq. ft. of commercial space on the ground floor. It will also include 63 bicycle parking spots and 290 vehicle parking spaces.
