PCL Construction donates face coverings to Los Angeles communities

PCL Construction says it is providing COVID-19 face coverings to Los Angeles Council District 8 and Council District 9 to be distributed to community members with the greatest need.

“As a company founded on social responsibility, giving back to our communities is the cornerstone of our organization,” Aaron Yohnke, vice-president and district manager of PCL’s Los Angeles office, said in a statement.“As a 100 percent employee-owned company, we give back to communities where we live and work.”

Face coverings are now required for all of those living in Los Angeles County and are not always easily accessible to every household, especially those physically and financially vulnerable. Council District 8 and 9 have been incredibly agile in their response to the ever-changing landscape by providing meals for seniors, childcare and much more.

“It’s critical that Council District 8 residents have access to the personal protective equipment necessary to stay safe during these challenging times. It is important for our community to look out for each other,” said Marqueece Harris-Dawson, council member for Council District 8. “We appreciate this donation of masks from PCL that will support our essential workers and most vulnerable constituents.”

Over the years, PCL ays it has shas built a strong relationship with these council districts and small businesses in their community through numerous projects including the recently-completed Banc of California Stadium and previous work at LA LIVE.

“Being able to supply the face coverings that were donated by PCL to local members of the community gives me a sense a purpose that also brings me joy,” said Lila Don of SafetyVibe, the supplier who provided the items for donation. “These face coverings provide a peace of mind when having to go out in public and help them feel protected.”
