A fire at a San Bernardino County construction site damaged or destroyed eight buildings on Dec. 1.
More than 60 firefighters, 15 fire engines and five trucks were sent to attack the fire in Upland near Highway 10 at an apartment complex, which extended to an adjacent building, the fire department reported.
Exposed lumber and high radiant heat added to the firefighters’ challenges. More than a dozen threatened structures were saved during the “intense” firefight.
“No damage estimates are available but the losses are significant,” the fire department said in a statement.
The fire is under investigation.
