Developer LDK Ventures plans to start construction soon on the Telegrapher, a 432-unit rental apartment complex in Sacramento’s Railyards area.
LDK vice-president Josh Leachman told the Sacramento Bee that designing the Telegrapher during the pandemic “has allowed us to rethink how we might traditionally approach multifamily developments.” Stantec has designed the structure.
The Railyards has been largely vacant until now, but the newspaper says momentum is growing in the area, including a 345-unit residential building (The A.J.) under construction now.
The LDK project will incporporate “ample and engaging open space” and a wide range in the size of apartments, from 360-sq. ft. studios to 1,150-sq. ft. two-bedroom units. Floor plans “will more easily facilitate working from home,” Leachman said. “The project recognizes how people work differently. There will be plenty of work spaces throughout the project, both inside and outside.”
The Telegrapher, at Fifth and Sixth streets will be near the Foundry, a pair of planned six-story office and retail buildings, the published report says.
