The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has awarded $130 million to 25 new infrastructure projects, six scientific studies, five feasibility studies, and 12 renewed contracts aimed at increasing the region’s water resiliency through multi-benefit projects.

“The funds approved today by the Board of Supervisors will go a long way towards ensuring all Los Angeles County residents have access to safe, clean, and reliable water resources,” said Los Angeles County Public Works Director Mark Pestrella.

To date, a total of $513 million has been awarded to more than 126 regional infrastructure projects across 50 municipalities. With a variety of other funding sources the spending tops $1 billion over the next five years, with $660 million of that supporting projects that benefit disadvantaged communities.

The $130 million approved last week will fund:

  • Hollenbeck Park Rehabilitation Project in the City of L.A.
  • Edward Vincent Jr. Park Stormwater Improvements Projects in the City of Inglewood
  • Rory M. Shaw Wetlands Park Project in the City of Sun Valley
  • Spane Park in the City of Paramount
  • Winery Canyon Channel and Descanso Gardens Stormwater Capture and Reuse Project in the City of La Canada Flintridge

Measure W: The Safe Clean Water Program was approved by voters in 2018 to provide local, dedicated funding to increase the region’s water supply, improve water quality, enhance communities, and protect public health.
