The City of Oakland has published the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on California College of the Arts (CCA) Oakland Campus Redevelopment Project, in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
CEQA requires state and local agencies to identify the significant environmental impacts of their actions and to avoid or mitigate those impacts, if feasible.
Comments will be accepted until Feb.26 and can be presented publicly at the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board public hearing on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. and the planning commission public hearing on Feb. 7 at 3 p.m. For information on how to submit public comments, see the Notice of Availability.
The Draft EIR assesses potential physical environmental impacts that could result from construction, recommends mitigation measures to lessen or eliminate adverse impacts, examines feasible alternatives to the Project, and is intended to inform City of Oakland decision makers, other responsible agencies, and the general public.
