Turner Construction Company, in collaboration with Sea Breeze Properties and Safdie Rabines Architects, marked a significant milestone with the topping off of 222 North City, a mixed-use development in North San Diego County.
Turner expects the project to be complete in late 2025.
City officials and project partners attended the ceremony and San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones highlighted the development’s role in shaping the city’s future and providing much-needed housing and retail opportunities.
The development includes 460 residential units and retail spaces to San Marcos.
“Sea Breeze Properties’ bold vision reflects in every aspect of this development. From design to amenities, this building sets a new benchmark for urban living in North County, and we are proud to contribute to such a transformative community milestone,” said Martine Sanders, vice president and general manager at Turner.
The $345 million development includes two 12-story towers offering expansive views of the San Marcos ridgeline, Palomar Mountain, and the Pacific Ocean.
Positioned adjacent to California State University San Marcos, the project is focused on “resident wellness, social connection, and sustainability”.
“This project is a catalyst for community-focused urban living,” Sadfie Rabines Architects principal Taal Safdie said in a statement. “It integrates green spaces with dynamic retail opportunities to create a vibrant hub of connection.”
