Construction is now underway on ArtHaus, a new eight-story residential development that will add 259 rental units to the heart of San Diego’s rapidly evolving East Village.

Located on a site just north of K Street between 14th and 15th Streets—previously home to an auto parts warehouse—ArtHaus will offer a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. Designed with modern urban living in mind, the building will include amenities such as a ground-floor courtyard, fitness center, coworking lounge, and a rooftop terrace with expansive city views. Completion is scheduled for summer 2027.

The project is being developed by Riaz Capital, with Econ Construction as general contractor. Project collaborators include Vida Design Inc. (interiors), DCI Engineers (structural), PLSA Engineering (civil), Fard (mechanical, plumbing, and electrical), Urban Arena (landscape), and The Dry Utility Group (dry utilities).

ArtHaus is the latest in a wave of developments reshaping East Village, one of San Diego’s most dynamic and rapidly densifying neighborhoods. Once a warehouse and industrial zone, East Village has transformed into a vibrant mixed-use district spanning more than 130 city blocks.

The area is currently experiencing a construction boom, with more than 1,500 residential units underway and an additional 1,700 in the pipeline. Notable nearby projects include Harrington Heights, a 15-story affordable housing development, and East Village Green, a $79.6 million civic park project now under construction just a few blocks away.

With continued investment in housing, public space, and pedestrian-oriented infrastructure, East Village is quickly becoming one of San Diego’s premier urban destinations—and ArtHaus is poised to play a key role in that transformation.
