Balfour Beatty has broken ground on David W. Gordon Elementary School in Elk Grove, a 10‑acre, ground‑up campus designed for about 850 TK–6 students in the growing Laguna Ridge community.

The campus will feature prefabricated mass‑timber (CLT) classroom buildings by TimberQuest, along with a two‑story modular classroom building by American Modular Systems, all designed with sustainability, safety and student experience at the core.

“We’re grateful to partner with Elk Grove Unified School District and Aedis Architects on this exciting project, delivering a future‑ready school for this vibrant community,” Balfour Beatty stated.

This campus is a great example of hybrid construction, combining modular classroom buildings with site-built spaces to create a cohesive, thoughtfully designed environment.
