Plans are moving forward for a new six-story project in downtown Walnut Creek, in the East Bay, replacing a former McDonalds at the 1380 N. California Blvd. site.
The East Bay Times reports the project, which goes by the title 1380 California, would be a 150,000 sq. ft. mixed-use building with ground-floor retail and restaurants, 77 market-rate apartments, 20 hotel rooms (among the apartments) and three floors of underground parking.
There is no formal schedule for the construction start; David Balducci of Align Real Estate did not respond to requests for comment about other aspects of the project, the publication reported. It has been designed by Perry Architects.
The project received its final design review Sept. 20. A conditional use permit had been granted in May.
