Construction begins on Marsh Creek Road Bridge Replacement Project

Construction has started on the Marsh Creek Road Bridge Replacement Project in Clayton, according to Hill International which will provide construction inspection services for the project.

Hill is serving as a major sub-consultant to construction manager Substrate, following approval by the Board of Contra Costa County.

The bridge replacement, approved for $4.9 million, will be a pre-cast/pre-stressed concrete structure, spanning over Marsh Creek, near Mount Diablo State Park. The project will bring the bridge up to appropriate standard for residents to use, as well as aid in creek maintenance.

The Marsh Creek Road Bridge Replacement will be a two-stage project. The overall replacement includes removing the existing structure, reconstructing the pavement, widening the creek channel, upgrading the drainage systems, installing a soldier pile retaining wall, relocating the existing water main, and adding signage and striping.
