A new semi-annual survey by Atlas Hospitality Group suggests that hotel development remained strong during the first half of the year in both Los Angeles and across California.
In Los Angeles County, the number of hotel rooms under construction has jumped 25% year-over-year since January, according to the survey. There are currently 37 hotels with 5,631 rooms under construction.
Meanwhile, in California, currently 183 hotels with nearly 26,000 rooms are under construction, reflecting a roughly 40% increase from the same time last year. Orange and San Diego counties posted some of the largest upticks, rising 100 and 81 percent, respectively, in the first half of the year.
