Construction is expected to begin on a renovations project at the U.S. Post Office at 750 Alma Lane in Foster City, Patch reports, citing city officials.
The new office will be about 3,800 sq. ft. with counter space and post-office boxes, according to the city.
“We are extremely happy that the post office will be reopening its doors,” Foster City assistant city manager Dante Hall said. “Postal services are extremely important to our community and the Charter Square Post Office has enjoyed the loyal patronage of local residents for many years. We are also grateful to our residents for their patience over the past several months.”
“City staff and the Office of Congresswoman Jackie Speier worked with USPS officials over the course of several months to help finalize the lease agreement of the permanent post office,” according to the city.
No construction timeline wasn’t disclosed but city official say that the project would take about two months.
