PCL Construction Services, Inc. recently named Cathy Orquiola as vice-president and district manager of the company’s California Buildings division where she will oversee all operations throughout California including Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County.
PCL says she is the first female executive to be appointed as a vice-president.

Orquiola first joined PCL in 1998 as assistant project manager in Orlando and returned to PCL in 2015 as director, corporate development. Before returning to PCL, she rose through the ranks and became vice-president, operations manager of an international construction firm, overseeing all southeast projects from Savannah, Georgia, to Puerto Rico. In January of 2017, she was promoted to district manager of California Buildings, where under her leadership, the office achieved a record profit of more than $30 million, PCL said in a statement.

“We are lucky to have Cathy in our corner,” said Deron Brown, PCL’s executive vice-president. “Her dedication to the construction industry, enthusiasm for developing employees, and willingness to think outside of the box has led to many great successes, and no doubt, many more to come.”

Orquiola graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
