Lawyer Daniel McLennon from Smith Currie & Hancock has written an extensive article describing new laws affecting contractors, most of which go into effect on Jan. 1 2019.

There is legislation regarding bidding and prequalifications, including Public School Bidder Prequalification Extended Indefinitely (AB 2031, O’Donnell).

Other legislation deals with bonds and insurance, construction delivery and the Contractors’ State Licensing Board.
