Related Cos. will start vertical construction next year on the 240-acre Related Santa Clara project.
The 9.2 million-sq.-ft. mixed-use project is estimated to cost $8 billion, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Silicon Valley development will include 5.4 million sq. ft. of office space; 700 hotel rooms; 1,680 residential units; and roughly 1 million sq. ft. of restaurant, retail and entertainment space.
The project will also feature new infrastructure, public spaces and a 30-acre park with recreational and fitness elements.
The project’s lead design architect Foster + Partners is working with Gensler, which the executive architect of the project. WSP USA is serving as the lead engineer for the infrastructure elements of the development.
The first phase of the development is slated for completion in 2023
