A lot that has sat vacant in the City of Carson for over 50 years is finally being developed.

The site will now be the home to the Los Angeles Premium Outlets, a new premium fashion outlet mall.

Phase one of the project is set for 400,000 sq.ft. and the already planned second stage will add 166,000 sq.-ft.

The outlet mall will feature 2,500 linear feet of frontage along the Interstate 405 Freeway. The site has roughly 2.5 million residents within a 10-mile radius and is situated about 11 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

As it is currently planned, the mall’s shops and restaurants will be elevated above street level and sit atop a ground-level parking deck.

Retail developers Macerich and Simon Property GroupĀ are heading up the project, which is expected to open in fall 2021.
