Tutor Perini has announced that its Black Construction subsidiary has been awarded a $178 million contract by the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pacific, for the replacement of Andersen Air Force Base housing.

The project includes the construction of duplex buildings with reinforced concrete foundations, concrete floors, concrete walls and concrete-sloped roofs designed for 170 mph wind speed to withstand Guam’s frequent typhoons.

Work is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2019 with completion anticipated in June 2022.
