In a bid to address the ongoing housing crisis in California, San Diego County will build more than 2,600 new housing units over the next six years.
The development will be made possible by recent funding initiatives to create affordable and stable housing. The new units will house over 5,000 residents in San Diego County, SDEntertainer reports.
Six developments are currently under construction, with some projects underway in San Diego, Poway, San Marcos, and Vista. More developments are expected to happen in the coming years in Vista, Carlsbad, and San Diego.
Some of the units are being funded by the County’s Innovative Housing Trust Fund, a $50 million investment.
