Construction on Las Vegas-California train could start this year

Brightline, which plans to build a high-speed train line between Las Vegas and Southern California, may break ground on the project by the end of the year.

California approved a $600 million private activity bond allocation to allow the company to raise up to $2.4 billion for the project, the Las Vegas Sun reports, citing a Forbes report.

The project will cost $5 billion. Construction on the line is expected to take about three years
