San Jose City Council approves Google’s 80-acre campus

The San Jose City Council has approved Google’s plans to build a multi-billion dollar campus, reports the New York Post.

The company will develop 80 acres of land on the western edge of downtown San Jose. The Downtown West campus will include up to 7.3 million sq. ft. of office space for 20,000 workers and 1,000 affordable housing units.

The development includes 15 acres of parks, plazas, and green spaces, new walking and biking paths, storefronts and more.

Construction, starting next, is expected to take between 10 and 30 years.
