Thompson Builders has been awarded a $107 million contract to build a residential building in San Francisco – the largest residential project to break ground in city in both 2024 and 2025.
Located at the intersection of Potrero Hill and Showplace Square, this 11-story development will bring 425 affordable living housing units to the city, with most reserved for households earning approximately 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI).
“We’ve been involved in this project since 2021, helping reimagine it into a community-focused, affordable housing milestone,” the company said in an Instagram post. “We’re excited to continue building infrastructure that meets today’s needs while expanding our portfolio of residential projects. Stay tuned for more updates as construction moves forward!”
Designed by BAR Architects, the development includes a 6,570 sq. ft. elevated landscape podium on the second level among other well-designed indoor and common outdoor spaces. Fletcher Studio is the landscape architect. The rooftop will include 2,625 square feet of solar panels.
