C.W. Driver Companies has topped out the Integrated Science & Engineering Building at California State University San Marcos, marking a key construction milestone on the 70,000-square-foot facility scheduled for completion in late 2027.

The project brings together science and engineering programs under one roof, with a design aimed at fostering collaboration across disciplines. The building will include classrooms, teaching and research laboratories, faculty offices, student support spaces and a café centered around shared learning and innovation.

Project leaders say the facility is intended to support hands-on learning and expand capacity for growing STEM enrollment at California State University San Marcos.

Sustainability is a major focus of the development, which is targeting LEED Gold certification. The goal aligns with broader campus efforts to reduce environmental impact and incorporate greener building practices into new capital projects.

Once complete, the facility is expected to serve as a hub for interdisciplinary research, teaching and student engagement in science and engineering fields.
