Southern California casinos continue their work on construction and expansion projects despite the pandemic, according to a report by Gambling News.
Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians’ project is slated to be complete in November. The 30,000-sq.-ft. site near Mary Pickford Theater will host an array of 536 slot machines and eight table games.
The Morongo Casino Resort & Spa is investing $550 million on expansion and the project hasn’t quite finished yet. They are adding a 450-room hotel along with a spa, a fitness center, and a pool complex. The casino completed several expansions and renovations and now intends to finalize construction work by the end of 2021.
Earlier this year, a new casino development south of Bakersfield received huge support during a public hearing held by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The Tejon Indian Tribe, in partnership with Hard Rock, proposed a $600-million project on a 306-acre plot of land just west of Mettler. The casino complex is expected to include a 400-room hotel, RV park, 13 restaurants, live entertainment venue, spa and fitness facility, conference center, healthcare facility and housing.
