The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) has awarded JOA a new five-year contract to provide construction management services. The firm has been working with HACLA for the past several years on major redevelopment and housing initiatives across Los Angeles.
HACLA is pursuing a “Build First” redevelopment strategy, which prioritizes rebuilding housing before relocating residents. The approach includes community participation at the outset of each project to shape redevelopment plans.
Over the past five years, JOA has supported HACLA on several significant undertakings, including the $1.5-billion Jordan Downs revitalization in Watts, the Rose Hill Courts redevelopment, and Project Homekey acquisitions citywide.
HACLA manages one of the largest public housing portfolios in the United States, overseeing redevelopment, affordable housing, and homelessness prevention efforts throughout Los Angeles.
